(ANSA) - HELSINKI, 28 DEC - Finland blocks all unvaccinated foreign travelers.

This was announced by the Helsinki government.

Non-vaccinated foreigners will be denied entry unless they are under the age of 16, resident in Finland, are diplomats or employees in essential businesses, or have non-deferrable family reasons as the reason for the trip.

Anyone who is vaccinated, in order to enter the Land of Lakes, will still have to exhibit a negative Covid test carried out in the previous 48 hours.

The measures came into effect today and also apply to EU citizens.

Initially the Finnish government had announced that entry into the country would have been possible, from 28 December, only with a negative test, mandatory for vaccinated and non-vaccinated people.

Then, in the last few hours, Helsinki has opted for a further one.
