In the United States it is reported that Sacramento has decided to drop the trade option on Ben Simmons.

The Kings were among the teams determined to sign the Australian quarterback, but in light of the Sixers' excessive demands, the club decided to give up, despite the desire to strengthen the squad before the deadline on 10 February.

Sacramento will continue to explore other options, with the team in poor shape and counting five straight losses.

The Philadelphia are determined to get out of every possible deal on Ben Simmons while maintaining their status as championship candidates.

Although according to quite a few commentators in the United States the trade deal with Sacramento was the best option for this stage of the season, the Sixers and Kings have not been able to reach agreements.

ESPN claims that Philadelphia's refusal is due to the club being convinced that they can get a better deal in the next two weeks, and willing to wait for the summer as well.

The Phillies are interested in landing players with a floor rate for Simmons, who holds a contract until 2025. As you may recall, the Sixers expressed interest in moving Simmons to Brooklyn for James Harden in the summer, but the Nets refused.
