The police of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate, in southwest Germany, announced that two of its officers were shot dead today during a routine traffic stop.
The state police said in a statement, according to Reuters, that "the search operations for the suspects who fled the scene are still ongoing."
In its statement, the police did not specify the destination of the suspects' escape and said that they do not have any description at the present time of the vehicle in which the suspects fled, their identity and the motives for the crime.
