Iceland plans to stop whaling from 2024

Minister, 'in the face of low demand' (ANSA) Iceland, one of the last three countries in the world to still practice whaling, intends to eliminate its quotas from 2024 amid low demand. This was announced today by the Minister of Fisheries. "Unless otherwise indicated, there is little reason to allow whaling from 2024," when current quotas expire, said left-wing Green Party member Svandis Svavarsdottir in Iceland's government.
