With the start of the second semester, school health doctors began conducting rapid tests to detect the Corona virus in their clinics, in order to ensure the health and safety of students, students and educational frameworks working in schools, and to limit the spread of infections in them.

The Director of School Health at the Ministry of Education, Dr. Hatoon Al-Tawashi, explained to SANA that the tests were distributed to most of the 50 school dispensaries covered by the application of the tests, and 60 rapid test swabs were conducted during the past week in the governorates of Damascus, Homs, Hama, Aleppo, Idlib, Tartous and Lattakia, 33 of which were positive, including 5 students. And 28 teachers and teachers.

Al-Tawashi pointed out that the tests will begin next week in all governorates, and the names of these clinics will be circulated to facilitate the arrival of sick students, students, teachers and teachers to the nearest school clinic to their homes to conduct a smear and check their health within a short period of 15-30 minutes.

Al-Tawashi explained that the results of the tests are documented as confirmed cases of infection with the virus, and are sent on a daily basis to the health directorates in the governorates, and from there to the Ministry of Health, according to the joint work plan that was agreed upon between the School Health Directorate in the Ministry of Education, the directorates of communicable and chronic diseases, and public health laboratories in the Ministry of Health.

On the 11th of last January, the School Health Directorate of the Ministry of Education received 70,000 rapid test samples to detect the Corona virus from the World Health Organization, to be applied to suspected cases among students, students and educational staff, instead of the PCR test.
