Defeated St. Pauli, beaten Darmstadt and now also won against Heidenheim: Hamburger SV celebrated the next success in a top game in the 2nd Bundesliga.
The home game ended 2-0 (0-0), playmaker Sonny Kittel scored both goals in the second half (63rd minute/78th).
Kittel first scored with a dust-off, he made the decision with a penalty hit.
When he was substituted in the 82nd minute, he was enthusiastically celebrated by almost 10,000 fans.
HSV is temporarily second in the table behind Werder Bremen, who won their game on matchday 22 against Hansa Rostock on Friday.
However, Darmstadt and St. Pauli could overtake Hamburg and Bremen again.
The top game between HSV and Werder takes place in two weeks in the Volksparkstadion (February 27).
1. FC Nuremberg has missed the leap up to the promotion ranks of the 2nd Bundesliga.
Despite a 1-0 lead, the Franconians suffered a bitter 4-1 (1-1) defeat at Karlsruher SC.
The club has now lost two games in a row and with 33 points is six points behind Darmstadt 98 in third place.
Philipp Hofmann (39th/59th), Benjamin Goller (54th) and Marvin Wanitzek (90th, penalty kick) shot the hosts to victory, for KSC it was the first in four games.
Johannes Geis (29th) put Nuremberg, who had lost 5-0 to FC Ingolstadt the day before, in the lead with a remarkable free kick.
With 29 points, the Karlsruhers are still in the middle of the league.
Dynamo Dresden scored an important away point after beating Hansa Rostock 4-1 last Sunday.
The Saxons fought a goalless draw at SC Paderborn but are without a win in five games.
The distance to relegation place 16 increased to five points for Dynamo, who was twelfth in the table.
The Paderborn could not win the third game in a row.
