Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova confirmed that Washington is managing and fabricating an unprecedented media campaign about an alleged Russian attack on Ukraine.
"All Western means that present themselves as independent have revealed their true face by presenting the story that Washington made up," Zakharova said in statements to the Solovyov Live channel, which is broadcast on YouTube.
Zakharova ridiculed the reports of a Russian invasion of Ukraine on the 16th of this month, calling for the matter to be treated as a "hysterical fit."
She said that the purpose of this hysteria is to escalate the situation and create a provocation, considering that it did not start two months ago, but that the ground had been prepared for it long ago.
And the Russian President's Assistant for International Affairs Yuri Ushakov pointed out earlier today that the phone call, which lasted a little more than an hour between the Russian and US Presidents Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden, took place in an atmosphere of unprecedented hysteria by US officials about the alleged Russian invasion of Ukraine, explaining that the President Putin denounced the false information in this regard.
