The Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed that the Ukrainian army is using the crew of the Bangladeshi cargo ship Banglar Samridy, which has been stuck in the Ukrainian port of Olvia since the 24th of last month, as a human shield.
"We express our indignation at the actions of the Ukrainian army, which, contrary to international standards, has not allowed the Bangladeshi cargo ship to go to sea for several days... and by mining the port, it is using foreign civilian sailors as human shields," TASS news agency quoted the ministry as saying in a statement.
Reuters news agency reported, quoting an official in the Bangladeshi Foreign Ministry, that a missile or bomb hit a cargo ship owned by Bangladeshis in the Ukrainian port of Olvia on the Black Sea on the 24th of last February, killing one of its crew members.
