These oligarchs who criticize Vladimir Putin's war

STORY – A few wealthy businessmen reputed to be close to the Russian president have not only denounced the sanctions, but also deplored the “special operation” he has launched.

They are devastated but few dare to say so in public.

Too risky.

Yet the reaction of the oligarchs to the invasion of Ukraine is watched like a crack in the wall of Putin's power.

If there are hardly any cracks at this stage, the speeches of some of these very wealthy hierarchs who have pledged allegiance to the Kremlin have not gone unnoticed.

Thus Oleg Tinkov, founder of the bank of the same name, who clearly spoke out against military intervention.

"Innocent people die every day in Ukraine, it's unthinkable and unacceptable

," reacted on February 28 the businessman, notoriously known to fight against leukemia.

“I usually refrain from making political statements.

I am a businessman who is responsible for thousands of his employees in Russia and Ukraine.

This crisis will harm both peoples and cause loss of life among the citizens of both countries, who live in brotherhood and understanding...
