Authorities are responding to a shooting this afternoon at East High School that has left multiple victims shot outside the school, according to the Des Moines Police Department.
The high school is currently closed, according to the school district.
"There are reports of a shooting near East High School. Police are actively investigating. The district is working with staff and families. We will have more information as it becomes available. East High School is currently closed. Please do not go to school. More information will be available soon," Des Moines Public Schools said in a tweet.
CNN is contacting the school district and police department for more information.
