(ANSA) - LENTINI, MAR 15 - Massimo Cannone, the husband of Naima Zahir, the 45-year-old native of Morocco killed three days ago in their home in Lentini, was stopped by the police.

A provision was issued against him by the Prosecutor of Syracuse for voluntary homicide, assuming the danger of escape.

The woman died of a stabbing in her neck.

The man claimed to have found her on the bed of the house, to have extracted the weapon to try to revive her, to have cleaned the blood on the ground because the "brain went haywire" and hypothesized that his wife "did it all by herself".

An autopsy will be performed tomorrow.

The arrest was carried out by personnel from the mobile squad of the Syracuse Police Station and the Lentini police station.
