The new Vatican constitution was expected like the messiah.
Under construction since the beginning of the pontificate in 2013, its publication was several times announced and several times postponed.
The 54 pages of a very technical document, only available for the time being in Italian, which profoundly reforms the functioning of the Vatican, were published in Rome, by surprise, on March 19, Saint Joseph's Day, the husband of Mary according to the Gospel, for whom Pope Francis harbors great devotion.

Like any administrative entity, the Holy See has a "
constitution
", a legal document that governs its operation.
This new “
apostolic constitution
” entitled in Latin “
Praedicate Evangeliium
”, which means “
proclaim the Gospel
”, dated March 19, 2022, will come into effect on June 5, the day of Pentecost.
It repeals "
completely
" the previous apostolic constitution "
Pastor Bonus
", the "
Good Shepherd
", published in 1988 by Pope John Paul II.
