Facilitating the export of Syrian products to Iraq and the consolidation of economic relations between the two countries was the focus of the meeting, which brought together the head of the Damascus Chamber of Industry and its countryside, Samer Al-Debs, and the head of the Federation of Iraqi Chambers of Commerce, Abdul Razzaq Al-Zuhairi and his accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, they discussed reducing customs duties and shipping costs for Syrian goods exported to Iraq, and protecting Syrian products during the exchange process, so that it takes place by exchanging the locomotives head only without the goods, or allowing the exchange yard to be transferred to Syrian territory.

Debs pointed out the importance of the efforts and meetings that took place during the last period in order to overcome the difficulties that hinder the improvement of economic relations between the two countries, pointing out the need to facilitate granting Syrian businessmen entry visas to Iraqi lands.

In turn, Al-Zuhairi stressed that the recovery of the Syrian industry is a recovery of the Iraqi economy, pointing to the need to provide the Federation of Iraqi Chambers of Commerce with official books that include detailed information about shipping costs that are actually paid for goods shipped to Iraq so that the issue can be raised and discussed with the Iraqi official authorities, praising the Syrian initiative that facilitated entry Iraqi trucks to Syria.
