(ANSA) - LUXEMBOURG, APRIL 04 - "The general picture" of the impact of the war in Ukraine on the European economy "should not be described as" that of "an oncoming recession".

This was stated by the European Commissioner for the Economy, Paolo Gentiloni, before the Eurogroup in Luxembourg, underlining that "obviously there are risks but there is also a lot of energy in our economy to maintain a level of growth", albeit "very low" .

"The impact of the crisis is there, even if it is too early to estimate it in quantitative terms", but even with a growth that is less than expected "if you look at 2022 we are still in positive territory", he explained.
