The rockets fell near the Kawergosk refinery, one of the largest in this oil-rich region, located about 20 km northwest of Erbil, Kurdish anti-terrorist services said in a statement.

They caused "

no human or material damage

", they assured.

The shots “

came from the Khazir region

”, near Mosul, a large city in northern Iraq, and “

they were directed towards Erbil

”, according to the Kurdish anti-terrorist services, which did not specify the exact target of the projectiles .

The attack, not immediately claimed, comes just over three weeks after the Revolutionary Guards, the ideological army of the Islamic Republic of Iran, claimed to have targeted an Israeli “

strategic center

” in Erbil, capital of Iraqi Kurdistan, firing twelve ballistic missiles.

These shots caused no casualties, but caused serious material damage.
