Italian Filippo Ganna, world time trial champion, will lead the Ineos team in Paris-Roubaix on Sunday, with Dutchman Dylan van Baarle, second in the Tour of Flanders.

On the other hand, the Briton Tom Pidcock is missing in the selection of the British team announced on Thursday.

The cyclo-cross world champion has decided to give priority to the next Ardennes classics.

Ganna (25), who had won the hopeful version in 2016, prepared without running any cobbled classics.

He has never yet been ranked in Paris-Roubaix in the elite (out of time in 2018, abandoned in 2019).

Two riders will make their debut in the "

Hell of the North

" among the pros: the American Magnus Sheffield, winner of the Brabant Arrow on Wednesday, and the Briton Ben Turner, one of the revelations of the start of the season.

The recent winner of the Amstel Gold Race, the Polish Michal Kwiatkowski, who has competed only once for the "

Queen of the Classics

", has been integrated into the group.

Since its creation in 2010, the British team has only had one podium in Paris-Roubaix, the third place of Briton Ian Stannard in 2016.

The Ineos team in Paris-Roubaix: Dylan van Baarle (NED), Filippo Ganna (ITA), Michal Kwiatkowski (POL), Luke Rowe (GBR), Magnus Sheffield (USA), Ben Turner (GBR), Cameron Wurf (AUS ).
