Full Moon in April: Why the Pink Moon isn't Pink

The Pink Moon is coming up in April, the full moon is a great celestial event, but not pink.

We explain the origin of the name.

Stavanger, Norway – During the pink moon in April, pictures of soft pink full moons often adorn the internet, but if you take a look at the sky in the evening and see a normal full moon, you will be disappointed.

The April full moon is not pink, but it is still beautiful to look at.

Full moons keep people from sleeping, about once a month they decorate the sky and alternate with new moons.

In April there is a full moon with a special name.

Even those who are otherwise not very good at observing the sky will probably prick up their ears when hearing the name "Pink Moon".

In the imagination, the full moon then usually looks large and actually pink or pink, but unfortunately it is not.
