Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador confirmed on April 21 the disappearance of a special unit that worked in Mexico with the DEA.

He added that this happened more than a year ago because "they were infiltrated by criminals."

The dissolved group was part of the Sensitive Affairs Unit (SIU), whose creation the United States promoted in various countries.

The SIU coordinate special operations, surveillance, collection of clues, destruction of laboratories and drug seizures, according to the US Department of Justice. Carmen Aristegui spoke with Mike Vigil, former director of International Operations of the DEA, about this and other topics .
