CRITICISM – With her poetic depictions of fauna and flora, the Finnish artist seeks to amaze us. To discover in Paris and in the Yvelines.

At first glance, one seems to observe a polychrome engraving in Buffon's mind.

However, it is a photo, a fabulous illusion created by photographer Sanna Kannisto, who has the gift of making birds pose... A graduate of the Turku Academy of Arts and the School of Art and design from Helsinki, the photographer traveled for twenty years the tropical forests but also those of Europe, Russia and her native Finland.

By taking part in scientific expeditions, she was able to approach animals and develop a unique process to capture them on a neutral background, isolated from their natural space.

Once the researchers have made their observations, she places the birds in a large semi-transparent box, delicately perched on a branch that serves as a backdrop.

By multiplying the lights, she then creates a unique, almost fantastic atmosphere.
