At 118 years old,

Kane Tanaka

, whose

death at 119 was announced last April 25th.

Sister André when she turned 118 years old

Speaking from Toulon, in the south of

France

, where she resides in the Sainte-Catherine Labouré retirement home, Sister André welcomed the news with "pride" but also with humility.

And the regret of "not being able to give back to others" everything they give her.

His message: "May people help and love each other instead of hating each other. If we shared all this, things would be much better!", He assured.

To the usual question about the secret of his longevity, he replied with a smile: "Only the good Lord knows this."

Sister André, born

Lucile Randoin

, went through history and is also

cured of Covid-19

.

Like so many French retirement homes, the one in which she resides had become a hotbed with 81 residents infected during the pandemic.

A dozen died but she, despite her age, also passed that test.

And today 'grandmother Europe' becomes the grandmother of humanity.
