Cooking oil is used extensively in cooking – but apart from that, olive oil & co. can do you a disservice.

Cooking oil has long been an integral part of the kitchen: Whether olive oil, sunflower oil or rapeseed oil - the range of different types is as large as the possibilities of use.

In addition to cooking and baking, oil has long since made a name for itself as a beauty product - for example for baby-soft skin.

But apart from that, cooking oil can also be used for various household hacks.

Get rid of glue residue – with cooking oil

Adhesive residues on surfaces or furniture in the home are really annoying.

However, olive oil can help you in an emergency - it is important that the

surfaces are smooth, such as plastic or wood

.

Simply put a little oil on a cloth and rub it over the affected area until the glue is gone.

Afterwards you can wipe with some water and soap.

If you want to use cooking oil on leather, be careful not to use too much to avoid staining.

If you want to mend the blunder, linseed or olive oil can be of help.

Mix

3/4 of the oil with 1/4 of the vinegar

and stir in a glass.

Then dip a clean cloth in the mixture and rub onto the affected area.

This makes the wood supple again and the scratch is as good as history.
