In the United States, the western part of the country is experiencing what experts call a mega-drought caused by climate change.

A study published in February found that the period from 2000 to 2021 was the region's driest in 1,200 years.

Lake Mead, between Nevada and Arizona, the largest artificial reservoir in the country and a source of water for millions of people, has fallen to an unprecedented level.

In Southern California, they have already limited residential and business landscape watering to once a week.
