(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 07 - The commitment to a "more livable" planet and a "stronger France" closed the speech of the French president, Emmanuel Macron, officially appointed for another five years at the Elysée after the victory against the candidate of the Rassemblement National, Marine Le Pen, in the April 24 presidential ballot.

In a brief speech at the official investiture ceremony this morning at the Elysée, Macron made an appeal to "act without stopping" for France to become "a more independent nation" and to "build our French and European responses to the challenges of our century".

During the ten-minute speech, the newly elected president expressed his ambition to preside with "a new method", "

to obtain a majority among the 577 deputies and to reach a sort of cohabitation with the current president today officially invested in his second post at the Elysée.
