The G7 is committed to decarbonising the majority of electricity generation by 2035, and most of road transport by 2030. This is what is stated in the final statement of the G7 Energy. For the maritime sector and civil aviation, the goal is decarbonisation by 2050 and aims to "significantly increase" low or zero carbon "transport", such as "public transport, railways, shared mobility, bicycles, walking" and "accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles , by financing the charging infrastructures ".
The G7 then pledges to "construct zero-emission buildings by 2030 or sooner".
