(ANSA) - WASHINGTON, MAY 30 - Justin Trudeaus cracked down on arms, after the recent massacres in the USA: the Canadian premier announced a bill that provides for a "national freezing" of the ownership of a weapon and the confiscation of the license for those is involved in acts of domestic violence and homolesty, such as stalking.

"From the day it goes into effect, it will no longer be possible to buy, sell, transfer or import weapons into Canada," Trudeau told reporters.

If approved, the measure should be applied starting in the autumn.

The Canadian premier squeeze also stipulates that long-arm magazines are modified so that they cannot fire more than five rounds, as well as a ban on the sale or transfer of high-capacity magazines - a way to limit the devastating power of semi-automatic rifles often used in massacres.

"There is no reason anyone in Canada should have me in his daily life, other than hunting and sporting activities," said Trudeau.
