"We've come a long, hard way, it's not obvious," said Jason Taitum, who was named the series' MVP (3: 4) against Miami, "not much was believed in us."
The Boston star, who played in Game 7 with a purple sweat on his elbow, explained: "This is my tribute to the memory of Kobe Bryant. Everyone knows he was my idol and how important he was to me. It was my way of showing it to him."

Tatum was joined by another Celtics star, Jaylen Brown, who finished the Eastern Conference Finals with a 24.1 points average: "We won our biggest test. Not just this season, but in the careers of each of us."
Brown added: "It was a not-so-simple mental test, but we did it."
On the losing side, Miami coach Eric Splastora complimented the winners: "We take the hat off to Boston. It's heartbreaking that it ended up like this for us, but the Celtics deserve all the credit."
