Haar near Munich: patient killed in psychiatric clinic

At the Isar-Amper-Klinikum in Haar, employees noticed smoke coming from a patient room. The alarmed fire brigade discovered a lifeless resident who was apparently the victim of an intentional homicide.

According to the police, a patient was killed in her room in a psychiatric clinic in Haar near Munich.

Signs of violence were found on the 40-year-old, "accordingly, we are currently assuming a deliberate homicide," said a police spokesman in Munich.

According to previous knowledge, a fire had also been set in the room, as reported by the "Münchner Merkur".  

A suspect is a person who is also housed in the Isar-Amper-Klinik and was initially arrested.

According to the police, their identity has not yet been finally clarified.

According to "Münchner Merkur", the suspect is said to be 32 years old.

Around 10 a.m., employees of the house noticed smoke coming from the patient's room and alerted the fire brigade, who, according to the police spokesman, were able to extinguish the fire.

They also discovered the lifeless resident.

How the woman died was initially unclear.
