A man had himself vaccinated umpteen times against Covid-19 in Saxony – but apparently that wasn’t all.
The mass vaccine should also have been active in Saxony-Anhalt.
He may have received more than a hundred corona vaccinations.
A corresponding investigation is "pending here," said a spokesman for the Magdeburg public prosecutor's office.
He spoke of "conspicuous behavior" and dozens of vaccinations.
The authority is waiting for further proceedings against the suspect in order to conduct the investigation in one hand.
The 61-year-old had been vaccinated repeatedly in Saxony since the summer of 2021.
The "Freie Presse" reported that the man sometimes received three vaccinations in one day.
According to the Leipzig public prosecutor, he received at least 95 injections in vaccination centers.
A spokesman said there was still no reliable evidence of the man's motivation.
The case has since been handed over to Magdeburg, where the accused lives.
When the mass vaccination was stopped in Eilenburg, Saxony, at the beginning of March, he had blank vaccination cards with him that had been filled out in other names.
He is accused of multiple fraud, said the Magdeburg public prosecutor.
There is a suspicion that the man sold fake vaccination certificates: "The investigation will take some time."
When the man was arrested in early April, there was no evidence of any health problems caused by the numerous vaccinations.
The Chemnitz infectiologist Dietmar Baier, a member of the Saxon Vaccination Commission, said at the time that the vaccinated person did not have to fear any damage: "It is of no use and it does no harm." The body breaks down the substance quickly, the immune system adapts to the constant refreshment and eventually stop responding.
