During a House Judiciary Committee hearing on gun control in Congress, Florida Republican Congressman Greg Steube brandished three pistols from his private arsenal during the videoconference.

By this gesture, he wished to denounce a new bill "Protection of our children", carried by the democrats in order to fight against violence linked to weapons.

Republicans strongly oppose this law which would make it illegal to use magazines with more than twenty rounds.

Which would make some weapons unusable.

Congressman Greg Steube was interrupted in his explanations by Texas Democrat Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee who called out to him: "I hope this weapon is not loaded".

The latter replied: “I am at home, I do what I want with my weapons”.

His behavior shocked Democrats who criticized him for posing proudly with his weapons, less than 24 hours after a shooting in Wisconsin that left five people injured.

In less than a month, the United States has seen four shootings, which left a total of 35 dead, including 19 children at Robb's elementary school in Uvalde.
