Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador announced his boycott of the Summit of the Americas, which is being held today in Los Angeles, to protest Washington's exclusion of American countries, including Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua.

Agence France-Presse quoted Obrador as saying, in a statement today, that I will not attend the summit because not all American countries were invited to it, expressing his desire to change the policy that was imposed centuries ago, which is the policy of exclusion.

It is noteworthy that the President of Mexico, who is one of the main partners of the United States in the region, threatened weeks ago not to participate in the summit if the United States excluded Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua, which is what actually happened.
