145 MPs have already announced that they will back the British Prime Minister, in order to continue to serve 180 hands are needed in his favor • Finance Minister Rishi Sonak has already announced his support for the Prime Minister

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is facing a dismissal vote among MPs from the Conservative faction, his own party, and if defeated he will be removed from office and unable to run in the upcoming election for the party leadership.

Reuters conducted a poll and found that at least 145 MPs from the faction support the prime minister.

Johnson needs the support of 180 MPs to survive the vote.

The decision to hold the special vote is in fact an automatic result.

This is after at least 15% of members of the Conservative House of Representatives submitted letters to the party secretariat asking for a vote of confidence in Boris Johnson, i.e. at least 54 members out of the 360 members of the Conservative Party's MPs applied.

The vote will take place tonight and if a majority is won against Johnson, the immediate implication is that a primaries race will be opened in the party to replace him, when the current prime minister will not be able to run.

The race will likely be spread over several weeks.

After a new leader is elected to the party he is expected to receive the blessing of Queen Elizabeth to form a new government.
