This is the cautious decision taken by the prefecture of Tarn, one of the twelve departments placed on heat wave red vigilance this Friday.

The measures taken will, in fact, have concrete consequences on the holding of numerous sporting events this weekend.

The Route d'Occitanie, a professional cycling event in stages taking place from June 16 to 19, will thus see its second stage amputated.

The Tarn prefecture has banned the race from taking place in its department.

Initially planned in Graulhet, the start of this stage will finally be in Belmont-sur-Rance, in Aveyron.

For a race reduced to… 36 km only, until the finish in Roquefort-en-Aveyron.

The first stage was won in the sprint by Arnaud Démare (Groupama-FDJ), Thursday at L'Isle-Jourdain (Gers).

Another disruption for Tarn sports fans: the big Top 14 semi-final between Castres Olympique and Stade Toulousain, which is being played in Nice this Friday evening at 9:05 p.m., will ultimately not be broadcast on a giant screen in the basement. - Tarn prefecture.
