A rejuvenating parenthesis is in store when you put down your suitcases in the cozy lobby of the new 4-star hotel residence Pure Montagne Resort & Spa, on the heights of the village of Saint-Martin-Vésubie.
The view of the vast landscape of mountains carpeted with forests and the song of the birds are immediately soothing.
"
We wanted to draw inspiration from the large hotel chalets found in Savoie
," explains Laurent Chadaj, president of SAS Pure Montagne Resort, which operates the residence, the only 4-star address in the Vésubie valley and surrounding area since its opening at the end of 2021 on the initiative of the Alpes-Maritimes department.
On the panoramic terrace of the main building, he highlights the details: the generous and statutory eaves, the high ceilings, the exterior cladding in copper-coloured Douglas fir, the larch shingle roofs when the slope allows it, the omnipresence from stone, sandstone and granite to metallic colours.
Inside, the custom-made furniture gives pride of place to solid wood and soft, textured materials: fabric sofas, felt lights... A precious and warm decoration that is found in the 34 suites, clad in pine, all with a terrace with a view.
Divided into five chalets and fitted out as two to four-room apartments, with a living room and an equipped kitchen, they can be rented by the night.
Inside the establishment, the custom-made furniture gives pride of place to solid wood and soft, textured materials.

Two strengths end up flattering the senses.
The spa, housed in a chalet away from the bedrooms, offers a sensational view of the mountains from the jacuzzis in the relaxation area and a vast treatment room that can be privatized.
The restaurant is the other source of pleasure for the senses.
At the helm, Julien Matheret, a young chef from the valley who loves lamb's brains, trout and rabbit concocted by his grandmother.
Its sincere and very refined cuisine, marked by Provence and the mountains, alone deserves a stopover.
For hedonists but also seasoned hikers, sports enthusiasts or contemplative walkers, the Pure Montagne Resort & Spa is a privileged base camp for exploring the valley.

Some hiking trails, including the GR 52A, are accessible from the residence.
Departing from the Boréon site, a few kilometers to the north, the trails of the Mercantour National Park quickly take hikers into a mineral high mountain landscape.
Still at Boréon, the Alpha park, although badly damaged by storm Alex in 2020, allows you to have an unforgettable encounter with the wolf, in a natural environment where it is present in the wild.
Fifteen minutes by car, La Colmiane is a ski resort where you can shiver on a very long zip line.
Finally, Saint-Martin-Vésubie has original equipment: the Vesúbia Mountain Park, which houses the only indoor canyoning in Europe, a large swimming pool and indoor climbing areas.
