(ANSA) - MILAN, JUL 18 - The International Energy Agency considers it "essential" that Europe immediately adopt "coordinated actions" to prevent "a consistent gas crunch" in the "harsh winter ahead", in the event of a stop to Russian supplies.

In the next three months, the AIE calculates, "further" 12 billion cubic meters of gas will have to be saved for storage.

To this end, the AIE suggests the adoption of "5 immediate measures", including household consumption checks.

Without the implementation now of "this kind of measures", Europe "may have to face much more dramatic cuts and quotas later on".
