Last Thursday, a powerful explosive device was found in the "Rattoi" restaurant in Moshav Emunim, which if it had exploded - would probably have claimed many lives, including innocent civilians. As a result, the police decided to close the place for two weeks.
According to the suspicion, the charge was placed on the spot following a conflict between the owner of the restaurant and a senior criminal, who belongs to one of the crime organizations in the area.
The Police Spokesperson (Lakhish) stated that the explosive device was neutralized by the police saboteurs before it was activated, and its findings were forwarded to the continuation of the police investigation into the matter, which has so far been conducted under a blanket gag order.
As part of the investigation, it was decided to hold a hearing for the business owner, and to close the place by administrative order for 15 days, as mentioned.

According to information received by the Israel Police, the suspicion is that the background to the incident, as mentioned, is a conflict between the owner of the restaurant and criminal elements in the area, apparently due to personal relationships he had.
The commander of the Lachish area, Chief of Staff Barak Mordechai, decided to establish a special task force that will work in cooperation with the Lachish Police Department, with the aim of thwarting and preventing further criminal acts that may harm human life, while focusing on the criminal organizations.
