EU-19: economic expectations drop in July, -4.5 points

(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, JULY 28 - In July the economic expectations of consumers and businesses in the EU and the eurozone are still falling.

According to flash estimates by the EU Commission, in July 2022, the economic sentiment indicator (ESI) dropped both in the EU (-4.2 points to 97.6) and in the euro area (-4.5 points to 99.0 ), falling below its long-term average.

The employment expectations indicator (Eei) also decreased significantly (-3.6 points to 106.6 in the EU and -3.2 points to 107.0 in the euro area), although it remained above the average of long period.
