The administration of the city of Energodar in the Zaporozhye province confirmed that the Kyiv forces launched an artillery attack using Western long-range weapons on the city and on the Zaporozhye nuclear plant.
"Artillery shelling was recorded on the territory of the Zaporozhye nuclear plant and the use of Western long-range weapons in the strikes," the RIA Novosti news agency quoted the administration as saying in a statement today, noting that the bombing was carried out from the other side of the Dnieper River.
"Ukrainian extremist formations opened fire on the outskirts of Energodar," the administration added, noting that casualties are currently being investigated as a result of the attack on the city and the nuclear plant.
