The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has acknowledged flaws in its response to the Covid-19 pandemic, indicating that the same thing happened with the monkeypox outbreak.

The New York Times reported that Centers Director Dr. Rochelle Wallinsky called for her agency to be reformed after an external review found it had failed to respond quickly to Covid-19.

The newspaper reported that the same thing also went with monkeypox, as the United States seemed ready for it, however, its response was not sufficient as the country could not use the millions of doses of vaccine it possessed because they were not packaged for distribution.

The newspaper pointed out that vaccines and available drugs remain elusive for the vast majority of Americans due to poor communication by federal officials and other bureaucratic barriers.
