Finding exactly what you are looking for in the hardware store can sometimes take a little longer.

A man in Heidelberg now experienced what consequences this can have, as the Mannheim police report.

At 8:30 p.m., burglar sensors sounded the alarm at a hardware store in the city.

The police responded but could not find any signs of a break-in.

At the same time, a 62-year-old man made an emergency call to the police: he forgot the time while shopping in a hardware store and didn't notice the closure.

Now he is trapped there.

He's tried to find a way out, but failed.

He might have triggered the intruder sensors that way.

The police checked the market, then let the man go home.
