Russia today renewed its call to the United Nations and the Security Council to condemn the ongoing Ukrainian attacks on the Zaporozhye nuclear plant, while noting that the radiological situation at the Zaporozhye plant is still normal.

Russia's permanent representative to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzia, said during a Security Council session, according to what was reported by Sputnik, that "calls for disarmament in the areas surrounding the Zaporozhye nuclear plant are useless because the Ukrainians will immediately enter the region if this happens."

Nebenzia expressed his country's regret that "the IAEA report did not indicate the source of the bombing of the Zaporozhye nuclear plant," adding that Russia welcomes the IAEA's decision to have permanent representatives inside the Zaporozhye plant and is ready to fully cooperate with it.

During the Security Council session, the Director of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, stressed that the attacks on the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant were unacceptable, stressing that all systems of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant must operate at full capacity.

Nebenzia had announced on the 23rd of last month that Kyiv forces bombed the Zaporozhye nuclear plant daily using heavy US weapons.
