Carlos Alquers defeated Casper Rood in the men's final of the US Open tonight (Sunday to Sunday), and won the first Grand Slam of his career.
"I'm waiting for an amazing match against an unbelievable player," said the 19-year-old Alquers before the match.
He is the youngest US finalist since Pete Sampras in 1990. "I'm going to enjoy myself and see what happens," he added.
Rudd was trying to become the first Norwegian to win a Grand Slam back at Roland Garros.
"Hopefully I can represent Norway well," he said earlier.
