Kiev, 500 square kilometers in Kherson recaptured

(ANSA) - KIEV, 12 SEPT - Ukraine has regained about 500 square kilometers of territory in the southern region of Kherson that had been occupied by Russian forces: the army of Kiev has said this.


    "We have cleared about 500 square kilometers" of the territory, said the spokeswoman of the Ukrainian Southern Command, Natalya Gumenyuk, providing a first estimate of the progress of the counter-offensive launched by the army in the south of the country in the last two weeks.


    The spokesperson added that the settlements of Vysokopillia, Biloguirka, Soukhy Stavok and Myrolioubivka are "completely under the Ukrainian flag".
