The Barcolana International Jury today disqualified two boats, Arca and Ewol-Way of Life, after having opened as many proceedings: a protest against Ewol - Way of life and a procedure pursuant to Rule 69 (misconduct) against Furio Benussi , skipper of Arca, in fact.

Arca and Ewol had crossed the finish line respectively in second place (behind Deep Blu) and in fourth (behind Portopiccolo, who had finished in third).

In fifth place was placed Maxy jena.

Now due to the two disqualifications the top ranking is as follows: Deep Blu, Portopiccolo, Maxy jena and to follow the others.

    Benussi's choice had been contested to leave a sail in the sea after it had torn, and to let a support boat pick it up;

both behaviors not allowed by the regatta regulations.

    The protest of the International Jury against Way Of Life is a consequence of the investigations carried out after the protest that the Way of Life itself had filed yesterday against Benussi regarding the former Rule 69. The International Jury found that on board the Slovenian boat one of the members of the crew had not been included - as mandatory - in the crew list.

Having verified the fact in today's hearing - although it emerged that it was a material error on the part of the crew - Way of Life was disqualified.

    The procedure opened by the International Jury against Furio Benussi, skipper of Arca, for Rule 69 (misconduct), ended with a disqualification.

    The proceedings of this procedure and the conclusions of the International Jury are not public, but the verdict is.
