Demonstrators gathered to protest the infamous prison in the capital Tehran • According to reports, prisoners escaped from the prison intended for political prisoners where protesters were imprisoned from the wave of protests against the regime in recent weeks

Unprecedented escalation in riots in Iran: Protesters clashed with the Iranian police outside the Evin prison and according to reports in the media affiliated with the opposition, an uprising by the political prisoners imprisoned there led to live fire and a large fire there.

It was also reported that hundreds of members of the prisoners' families who demonstrated outside the compound tried to break into the prison grounds while prisoners broke through the doors of the wards in order to get out of the smoke-filled buildings.

In the videos posted by surfers on social media, I see the prison with a large column of smoke rising from it and gunshots are heard in the background.

Demonstrators gathered outside the prison, located in a mountainous part in the north of the capital Tehran, were heard chanting "death to the dictator" in reference to the leader of the Islamic Republic, Ali Khamenei.

Evin prison is a symbol of the oppression of the Iranian regime and in the last few weeks thousands of protesters were brought to it to protest against the regime's strict religious laws and the killing of the young woman Mahasa Amini.

Over 200 people were killed in protests in Iran, and over 7,000 protesters were arrested, most of whom were released from custody after a few hours.
