"The Jews must come to their senses": Trump's surprising candidate for Prime Minister of Israel Israel today

10/16/2022, 5:00:02 PM

The former president announced in a tweet that he would have been easily elected to lead the Jewish state and harshly attacked the community in the US

In a post he published on his social network, Truth ("Truth"), Trump criticized American Jewry that disapproves of him, and wrote: "No president has done more for Israel than I have.

Nevertheless, somewhat surprisingly, our great evangelicals show a much greater appreciation for it than the Jewish people, especially those of them who live in the USA.

"The Jews who live in Israel, however, are a different story - the support for me there is the highest in the world, I could easily be elected prime minister there! American Jews must come to their senses and appreciate what they have in Israel, before it's too late."

Trump established his social network after his accounts on the other platforms were blocked following the events of the storming of the Capitol.

US Jews traditionally support Democratic presidential candidates, and many of them do express strong reservations about the previous president and his style, despite his unreserved support for Israel (and for some, perhaps because of this unusual support).

Despite this, all polls in the US show that Trump enjoys enormous popularity in the Republican Party, and that if he decides to run for president in 2024, he is the leading candidate to win the party's primaries.

In the latest poll conducted by Harvard University and the Harris Institute, Trump leads by a whopping 38 percent over Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

Trump receives 55 percent support in the poll compared to only 17 for DeSantis, and the other potential candidates, including Senator Ted Cruz, former Vice President Mike Pence, former US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, are far behind.

However, it should be noted that there is still a long time until the presidential primaries, and it is too early to draw definitive conclusions from the current polls.

Trump himself, who will be 77 years old this coming June but seems to be in good health and as energetic as ever, has not yet officially announced whether he will run for president but has dropped some thick hints regarding this possibility.
