Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad Al-Maliki renewed his call on the international community to take urgent action to end the Israeli occupation and hold its officials accountable for their crimes against the Palestinians.

In a statement reported by Wafa Agency today, Al-Maliki welcomed the report issued by the United Nations Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Palestinian Territory, which affirms the duty of the international community to commit to ending the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories, calling on the international community to assume its responsibilities and take urgent action to confront the dangerous reality expressed by its president. The Commission of Inquiry, Navi Pillay, said that ignoring international law in establishing settlements or facilitating their establishment and transfer of settlers to them aims to seize the West Bank.

Al-Maliki explained that the conclusion of the UN investigation committee is that the occupation measures that lead to the continuation of the occupation and the annexation of Palestinian lands amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity, represented by the forced deportation of Palestinians from their villages and cities, calling for the occupation officials to be held accountable for their crimes and violations against the Palestinian people.
