At the end of a complex operation, Beit Shemesh firefighters managed to rescue unharmed a dog that fell into an open pit four meters deep.

The owner of the dog reported the incident today (Saturday) in the morning hours and stated that the dog fell near Nahal Poleg Street in Ramat Beit Shemesh A.

Reshef Moshe Biton, shift commander and deputy commander of the special rescue unit at the Beit Shemesh regional station, said: "We arrived at the scene and saw a large dog trapped in a pit 4 meters deep.

Access to the pit was problematic, the owner of the dog was waiting for us there.

The HIL commander went down to the pit using a ladder, attached a dedicated rescue kit to the dog and a mouth barrier.

The dog was rescued in a safe and professional manner and is in excellent condition.'
