The Damascus Countryside Governorate has formed a committee whose mission is to directly supervise and follow up the work of service institutions in the Ain al-Fijah area, with the aim of speeding up the provision of services in preparation for the return of the people.
The Governor of Damascus Countryside, Safwan Abu Saada, asked during an expanded meeting that included directors of service institutions in the governorate, members of the specialized executive office, and the elected head of the local council in Ain al-Fijah, from the direct service directorates to complete the rehabilitation of infrastructure, and to provide the necessary services that would enable the people of the area to return quickly , and whose number is estimated at 450 families.
The governor stressed the need for the committee to supervise, momentarily and directly, the implementation of the work of the workshops, and to coordinate fully with the directors of electricity, water, sewage, and others, in order to secure the necessary services and infrastructure for the proper return of the people, and to provide mechanisms to start opening and paving roads.
Abu Saada, the director of the Water Corporation and the Sanitation Company, called for the preparation of an integrated study, to commend spatial sewage treatment plants that will achieve technical integrity, and to repair water networks that will serve the returning residents, in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 1 of 2018.
