TEST – The year of its 50th anniversary, this sedan, which has largely contributed to the notoriety of the Japanese brand in Europe, brilliantly turns to an unprecedented electrified engine.

Why keep calling it Civic?

In the space of fifty years and ten generations, Honda's successful sedan, sold in more than 27.5 million units, has grown by 1 meter, to the point of now almost fulfilling the mission of the Accord , which has deserted the European market.

Sure, we grew up together, but the Civic went from a 3.54m city car to a compact sedan over 4.50m.

Still a world car, the eleventh generation continues its headlong rush.

With a wheelbase and a length which increase respectively by 35 mm and 31 mm, the new Civic is positioned astride between the top of the C segment and the D segment of the road cars.

After the narrow doors, the rear roominess becomes the market reference in terms of legroom.

Still, the reduction in the height of the pavilion of 27 mm makes its seats less welcoming for people measuring more than 1.80 meters.
