Al-Hasakah, SANA- The Al-Hasakah Chess Championship for age groups was concluded, which was held by the Sports Union branch in Al-Hasakah in Mashhad.

The Al-Hasakah Chess Championship for age groups, which was held by the Al-Hasakah Sports Federation branch, concluded with the participation of 30 players.

The first place was won by Adham Hassan and Omar Hassan, while the players Tim Hassan and Hisham Al-Shaher took the second place, and Haitham Al-Khalaf and Maysam Al-Khalaf came third.

Head of the Chess Technical Committee in Al-Hasakah Mithaq Al-Hassan said in a statement to SANA: The tournament, which was held according to the Swiss system of seven rounds, was characterized by strong competitions, especially in the advanced positions, stressing its importance for preparing for the Republic Championship to be held in Lattakia during the coming period.

The referee of the tournament, Raed Safar, pointed out that the tournament was held over a period of two days and witnessed a distinguished participation of young age groups, which shows the extent to which parents are interested in teaching and training their children this game with multiple sports benefits.

The director of the Sawa Shabab project, Ayham Al-Hamdush, indicated that the project participated in organizing the tournament with the aim of supporting young age groups and developing their talents, especially that these groups are at the heart of the project’s work, noting that there are many promising talents for chess in Al-Hasakah that will have an imprint in the Republic’s championships.

Player Adham Hassan explained that the tournament was an opportunity to exchange experiences between the players, pointing at the same time to his and his colleagues' readiness to participate in the Republic Championship and achieve advanced positions.
